Casio Men's Waveceptor Atomic Dual-Time Watch #WVQ400J-1 Review

Casio Men's Waveceptor Atomic Dual-Time Watch #WVQ400J-1I was disgusted with TAG Heuer for no longer making repair parts for my favorite old watch. I was even willing to spend the ridiculous money they asked for replacing the battery and gaskets... about $100 every two years. I'll never get another TAG since they don't support their customers.

So... I looked all over, did lots of research, and found this watch had everything I was after. I love the solar power (no battery to replace) and the atomic clock synchronization (no more monthly date-changes or DST adjustments).

I found it quite easy to set up. Yes, you MUST read the manual but it's logical and easy to follow. Don't go pushing buttons without knowing for certain what you're doing and you should be okay. I especially like the setting that automatically turns on the dial lamp when it's dark and I tilt my wrist... it's totally cool. So in addition to solar power and atomic reception, it's got a tilt-angle sensor. Amazing.

The watch looks great... Amazon is selling it at a really good price: a bit over half what Casio lists it for.

My only wish is that they offered the watch with a stainless link band. I'm concerned that the weakest aspect of this is the rubber band. It's comfortable and looks fine, but I worry it'll break where I bend it back to insert the tab every time I put it on. And it's not a standard attachment, so there may be no repair option.

ADDITIONAL COMMENT AFTER LIVING WITH IT FOR SEVERAL MONTHS:
I still like this watch, but wanted to share one problem that's popped up. The large buttons on the bezel are TOO EASY TO PUSH INADVERTENTLY. Meaning, simply by bending my hand back, I can end up changing the time zone or setting off a timer. As I type this, the date has been replaced by the time zone indicator. I now must find the manual (at home in my bedside table) to resume normal timekeeping functions. This happens a LOT! I can only hope Casio designers check these listings and will create a future version with a twist-stem that locks to replace these big, fat buttons.

Otherwise, I love the watch. At such a great price, I can't justify downgrading from 5 to 4 stars.

Casio Men's G-Shock Solar Atomic Watch #GW500AJP-1AV Review

Casio Men's G-Shock Solar Atomic Watch #GW500AJP-1AVHaving owned the GW500AJP-1AV for a week, here are my thoughts on some of the points raised by the reviewers of this and other G-Shock models:

1. In my opinion, concerns about the thickness of the watch have been overstated. Certainly, if slimness is an *important* criterion for you, this isn't your watch. But you'll have no trouble fitting it under your shirt cuff. [Though the manual cautions that doing so will hamper the solar function.] Even my ridiculously slender wrists support it - physically and (I hope) esthetically - without difficulty.

2. The G-Shock models are advertised as rugged. I'm not about to use mine as a hockey puck to put that to the test. But it certainly *feels* sturdy. [The thickness helps here.] And from what I've read about them elsewhere, they do shrug off a considerable amount of punishment.

3. Everyone's experience with receiving the timekeeping signal from Fort Collins will vary depending on the particulars of their location and the attention they pay to the manual. I live only 350 miles from the transmitter but with modestly sized mountains in between - which can be a dealbreaker. Although it took a longer period of motionlessness for the watch to lock in than the manual had told me to allow, it has received a strong signal ever since. [And keep in mind that the watch is accurate to 15 seconds a month even without synchronization.]

3. When I first unpacked the watch, the battery level was at Medium - which you would expect after it having been in a box for who knows how long. After 3 hours of direct exposure to bright sunlight [which you should do in the early morning to keep the watch from roasting], the battery level has remained High ever since.

4. The four control buttons are slightly recessed - for decreased vulnerability, I imagine. This means you will need to operate them with a directly perpendicular press by the edge of your fingernail, rather than an angled mashing under the meat of your fingertip. I can see why this irritates some people. [It did require a small mental adjustment on my part.] However, I think it was a legitimate design decision.

5. The leftmost of the three circular "gauges" at the top of the display is meant to mimic the sweep of a minute hand on an analog watch. Speaking as someone whose attachment to that visual "pie-slice" style of time reading has been my main reason for sticking with analog watches until now, I think it's a terrific idea. In practice, though, the gauge is too small to be useful for that purpose. [For my eyes, anyway.] However, I don't mind particularly - since I think the three gauges look cool simply as decoration.

6. Someone else commented that the black resin wrist band is not replaceable. I'm not sure if that's true. However, replacing it would be no casual affair. So if you won't be content with this kind of band, you should look for a different watch. I prefer leather bands myself. But this one is in keeping with the toughness of the rest of the watch and certainly comfortable enough to wear.

On the whole, I'm very happy with this purchase. If you enjoy having an accurately set timepiece - and who doesn't? - it's difficult to overstate the satisfaction of radio-synchronization. A good mechanical watch is accurate to 5 seconds a day. A good quartz watch is accurate to less than 1 second a day. As long as it's in signal range, this watch will be accurate to less than 1 second for the next 60 million years [http://tf.nist.gov/cesium/fountain.htm] - or at least until the US government stops broadcasting, at which point you'll probably have other things to worry about. When someone asks you for the time, you will be able to give them *The* time.

Casio Men's Ana-Digi Edifice Thermometer Bracelet Watch #EFA120D-1AV Review

Casio Men's Ana-Digi Edifice Thermometer Bracelet Watch #EFA120D-1AVAlthough this watch is "only" a Casio it is simply an amazing and elegant timepiece. For under $60 dollars the watch looks like it costs at least $100 more and has tons of features to keep any technophile content.

The Pros of this watch include:

- Looks:Unlike a lot of other Casio watches, which have cheap looking plastic parts holding the metal pieces together, this watch is all metal. It looks like it is on par with the Seiko's and Pulsar's out there.I chose the square model over the otherwise identical round model because it looks more elegant whereas the round appears more sporty... either way you cannot go wrong.

- Features: The face of the watch is embedded with digital screens that are not normally visible unless you really try and look for them. This allows it to have the grace of a analog watch with the technology and features of a digital. But remember this is an analog watch first so the digital screens are not quick and easy to read like a true digital watch... they are there for supplementary information.

Cons of this watch include:

- The hands of the watch can partially obstruct the digital screens at times.

- The indicators for the alarm, hourly chime, autobacklight, etc. are really small and hard to see.

- The clasp of the band is made from much cheaper looking steel than the rest of the watch. This is not really a problem since you cannot see this part once the clasp is closed.

- The band is rather difficult to adjust and there are not a lot of settings in between so I was not able to get the "perfect" fit although it is very close.

- The band seems to scratch easily.I have had a Pulsar diver's watch for 20 years and had no scratches on its band.I have owned the Casio for less than 1 month and already there are a few faint scratches.Luckily I have not scratched the crystal as of yet but I would not be surprised if this also was easy to scratch.

- The thermometer is innacurate but it can be calibrated and once you calibrate it according to your body temp it does a fair job of telling you the temperature.

- It only has 1 alarm, and it does not have atomic timekeeping like other Casio watches.

Overall I have been really happy with the features and appearance of this watch. It really draws lots of compliments for its analog style and when people look at it upclose they are wowed by the technology factor as well.Really a good buy for the money, hopefully it will hold up with daily use and abuse.

Casio Men's Sports Chronograph Alarm 10-Year Battery Databank Watch #AW80D-2AV Review

Casio Men's Sports Chronograph Alarm 10-Year Battery Databank Watch #AW80D-2AVThis is a great watch for the price; it looks much more expensive than what I paid through Amazon would indicate. The digital subsection is unobtrusive to the analog look and still quite informative when using the watch's timing and countdown features, and also displays nicely the day and date by default.I don't use either of the two alarms but I'm guessing they work as advertised as well. The band is comfortable and easy to adjust size wise; it's small by default but fits my bigger wrist just fine after I slid the pin out a bit.

I'm guessing not too many people would care about the `memory bank' feature these days, since my cell phone and everyone else's contain all the numbers I can't remember, but I programmed mine to set one emergency number.Who knows, that may come into play if I'm unable to supply that information myself, I don't wear an emergency bracelet and the info is one button away so it's a nice to have feature.

Overall, I have a few more expensive watches and wear them when the occasion fits, but this has quickly become my everyday watch and I'm quite happy with it.

Casio Men's Digital Compass Twin Sensor Green Nylon Band Sport Watch #SGW100B-3V Review

Casio Men's Digital Compass Twin Sensor Green Nylon Band Sport Watch #SGW100B-3VI bought this watch recently and as any Casio watch its great looking and worth fully for the price tag. Compass, World timer, Stop watch, Alarm and timer features are great and easy to operate. My only complain is the thermometer which I find practically useless. The instruction manual says watch sensor needs 30 min to adjust to the atmospheric temperature. For instance if you take your watch from warm place to a cold environment it will give erroneous readings for 30 mins!! And if you are wearing your watch, you can't depend on the reading at all since body temperarture will ridiculously increase the reading even in a cold winter day! If you take off your watch and try to measure.. you have to wait 30 mins to get accurate readings. So this sensor is not useful at all for measuring temperature when you are outdoors. Other than this, I like the watch.

Casio Men's Pathfinder Multi-Band Solar Atomic Ultimate Watch #PAW1500T-7V Review

Casio Men's Pathfinder Multi-Band Solar Atomic Ultimate Watch #PAW1500T-7VThis watch has about all the gimmicks you could want in a watch. Well, perhaps a GPS, heart rate monitor and MP3 player would be nice inclusions... However, it is solar-powered with a generous battery reserve and should never die with normal light exposure. I've never seen my battery level fall below H (high). It has a thermometer, barometer, altimeter, compass, moonphase indicator, tide chart, automatic synchronization with international atomic clock radio broadcasts and the standard multi-function watch stuff like stopwatch, world time, etc.

That's all fine and dandy, but let's face it, this is NOT a precise instrument.

The compass is surprisingly consistent, though I did have to calibrate it away from the factory preset initially. I feel this feature is the watch's strongest feature due to its accuracy and the fact that it could someday save your life. Still, it's not perfect. The compass display only lasts a few seconds, so you can't use it like a real compass.

The barometer also is quite consistent once calibrated, though I have seen errors of 2 hPa in either direction.

Thermometer is rather fickle if the watch is being worn on skin. I've noticed as much as 5 degrees Fahrenheit error in either direction. It's typically within 1 F degree either way. Have never verified the thermometer's accuracy when not being worn, so can't comment on that.

Altimeter gives decent approximation. I live at sea level and get readings as low as -10 meters and as high as 10 meters while at sea level. Typically it reads 0 or 5 meters. On a recent trip about 250 miles from home, with the watch calibrated at my home's sea level, I reached a peak altitude of 1195 meters, according to the watch. On my descent, I compared the watch's altitude reading with a posted USGS altitude sign. At 457.2 meters (1500 feet) the watch read a pretty consistent 420 meters.

The moonphase indicator is, of course, very accurate.

Tide charting leaves much to be desired. It calculates first high tide to within 20 minutes. Pretty good. However, this is the only actual high or low tide to be seen and to actually see the actual time, you must go into the Adjust mode. The actual graphing of the tides is sloppy and inaccurate. A dot-plotted chart like that used for the barometer should be incorporated. The 2-hour increments of the present graph also hinder true accuracy. Also, this mode ALWAYS defaults to showing tide at 6:00 am. This time can be adjusted manually each time you enter the mode, but the default time CANNOT be changed. Tide charting is the watch's weakest feature.

Rather disappointed with the atomic clock synchronization too. I live in HNL, one of the listed time zones that should be able to receive atomic calibration. Has not happened yet, after over a month. When I try to manually synchronize, I get a level 1 (low, but existent) signal indication, but no synchronization. Frustrating.

It's also a little disappointing that a "titanium" watch has a PLASTIC shell and stainless back and presumably a something-other-than-titanium case. The band does appear to be legitimate titanium but I wouldn't be surprised if it's titanium-plated aluminum or something. This watch, despite it's substantial bulkiness, is very light. My Citizen Eco-Drive Skyhawk, which is TRULY a titanium watch and is notably smaller, is noticeably heavier.

All in all, it's a cool watch. It's very stylish for a digital watch. It's comfortable. It's very durable. And you'll always have reasonable accuracyfrom any function (maybe not with tide charting), with a good compass. Worth the Amazon price, but not the suggested retail price.

Casio Men's Forester Sports Thermometer Watch #AQF100WD-9BV Review

Casio Men's Forester Sports Thermometer Watch #AQF100WD-9BVRecieved as stated. The watch is super, when going thru the digital features, i.e; temp, alarm, world time and other features, the analog dials reflected the current time always, this is the greatest feature I like. The watch, band and all of the features under the glass has the look. The watch reflects it is resistance to 100 meters, will find out this summer, but it worked great while out in the rain. Setup features were easy for me once you get the hang of it, it took a few trys to set up the world time, and when Daylight Savings time kicked in, it worked, including changing from 2006 to 2007.Again - Hats off to Casio, another great time piece.

Casio Men's G-Shock Atomic Tough Solar Watch #GW5600J-1 Review

Casio Men's G-Shock Atomic Tough Solar Watch #GW5600J-1Way back in 1982, I bought one of the first Casio 5000 models. It was incredibly accurate, easy to use, had a countdown timer (which I used a lot) and seemed set to last for ever. In 1988 I crashed my motorcycle, and smashed the crystal on my watch. I threw it in a drawer, bought a new cheap casio (with less functions) and carried on. 3 years later I found the smashed one in the back of the drawer. It was still working and only wrong by 15 seconds! I've had various other watches since then, (really missed the countdown timer), but the Casio G-shocks were all way too thick to suit me. I really fancied the new Solar Powered and Atomic Clock synced Casios, but they were still too thick (and didn't have a countdown timer).
Then I found the GW5600J. Based on the old 5000 series, Atomic, Solar Powered, 5 alarms and a countdown timer, full backlight. And the same style and thickness as my old 5000! Not thin, but not ridiculous either.
I've had it a week now, I love it, I expect it to last the rest of my life (this sucker is tough), and neat, clear, easy to use and accurate!
If you like digital watches (as opposed to analog), this is the one.

Casio Men's G-Shock Classic Ana-Digi Watch #G100-1BV Review

Casio Men's G-Shock Classic Ana-Digi Watch #G100-1BVWhat's not to like about a seventy dollar waterproof, shockproof multi-function watch that also looks good. It's a seriously rugged-looking watch but very light weight. An inset digital screen is controlled by a mode button that advances through the date, digital time, alarm time, stopwatch, and second time zone functions. The screen can be backlit in a cool (really) blue light for night viewing. The rectangular screen is a bit small and not easily read with these baby boomer eyes in certain offlit situations. It is also difficult to read the screen when the analog minute hand sweeps across the screen through the 4 to 8 hour period. I'd pay another ten bucks to see this screen replicated on the top of the watch face (between 10 and 2 o'clock)to avoid this. No big deal. Hey, it's only seventy bucks!

Casio Men's World Time Databank 10-Year Battery Watch #AW80-7AV Review

Casio Men's World Time Databank 10-Year Battery Watch #AW80-7AVI have had this watch for @ 2 months now.I say for under 20 dollars it's a pretty good watch. It has kept perfect time over 2 months. It is lightweight and the band is very comfortable.I like having the analog hands and being able to display the digital date/time.

Now in no way do I expect this watch to be anywhere near the quality of my Citizens Chronograph, my Invicta Diver or my Swiss Army Officers watch. The Casio is a watch I bought for bumming around.

On the negative side, the light does not do a very good job of illumination.Additionally, setting the time is really cumbersome. Setting the anaog time is not too bad, but setting the digital date and time is really a pain. Keep the instructions handy, you will need it when you have to change the time.

All in all, for @ 15 dollars, it is a nice decent watch. A good value purchase

Casio Men's Forester Sports Thermometer Watch #AQF100W-7BV Review

Casio Men's Forester Sports Thermometer Watch #AQF100W-7BVAfter reading the reviews on here, I was a bit hesitant about buying this watch. I have had other Casio thermometer watches in the past, and was able to calibrate them to the accurate temperature while on my wrist. Despite all the reviews complaining about the inaccuracy of the temp, THIS WATCH IS NO DIFFERENT. All that needs to be done is to get a temp reading with another thermometer, and then program this watch according to the instruction booklet. That's it. It's reading temperature very accurately as I type. Yes, the instruction booklet is complicated (the PDF version from Casio.com is MUCH easier to follow), but it is worth it!

CASIO CA53W-1 Watch with Calculator Review

CASIO CA53W-1 Watch with CalculatorCASIO watches are the best thing that has ever invented. I bought this watch a little less than a month ago and was shocked and awed by the amount of attention I received over it. Before I bought the CASIO CA53W-1 Watch with Calculator I was a nothing, I was no one, no one on my campus recognized me. All of the people I knew were stupid gaming retards, all they cared about was Modern Warfare 2 coming out soon. They were like "Sean come play Modern Warfare with us, it totally is the best game ever. Play Modern Warfare to tune your skills for Modern Warfare 2." and I told them to get some lotion and go into the bathroom because I wasn't playing any more video games, I was becoming a man. The first thing I did was to sell my xbox 360 and all its accessories on craigslist for $150 (I had a lot of stuff), the reason being was that I had an epiphany when they told me to play Modern Warfare with them. The epiphany is: there will always be new video games coming out, most of them aren't worth your time. Anyways so I sold my xbox, and then I got a haircut. Well I got many hairs cut and ended up getting a fashionable haircut like that of Edward Cullen on Twilight. I figure all the girls love him right? They all want to take him into the bathroom without lotion or Maxim, if I look like him, I will get all the babes. I also got a Bowflex PR3000 Home Gym, now I work out 3 times a week and I am totally ripped (well at least I'm ripping). I then purchased this CASIO CA53W-1 Watch with Calculator, the first girl that talked to me about it was Janet, from my circuit analysis class. She told me that she liked my watch, that maybe we should hang out sometime. Janet had always been my dream girl, smart, funny, engineering major, mildly overweight (but in a good way), and she loved CASIO watches. I mean who doesn't right? Well I decided that the first girl that talked to me about my watch was going to be the one. I left circuit analysis class walking next to Janet, my ex-friend Jake from Modern Warfare came up to me and asked if I wanted to play in 20 minutes. I asked him what 7251 times 8 was, he couldn't tell me. I flashed him my CASIO CA53W-1 Watch with Calculator and told him to go into the bathroom with some lotion and a copy of Maxim, he knew immediately that he would never talk to me again. I cannot more highly recommend this watch to anyone, it is comfortable, has a watch, calculator, alarm clock, and most importantly for Janet and I it has a stopwatch.

Casio Men's Slide Rule Bezel Analog Chronograph Aviator Watch #MTP4500D-1AV Review

Casio Men's Slide Rule Bezel Analog Chronograph Aviator Watch #MTP4500D-1AVI recently bought this watch because my old watch was pretty much gone. I was initially drawn to the classy design that is complex yet not crowded, a look that I really like personally. Watch fits perfectly after I removed a few links, which was rather difficult. I have a fairly large wrist and had to adjust the clasp to its smallest setting and remove two links, so be prepared. I was using a tack and an ink pen to remove the link pins so that's probably why it was difficult. Which dial was which did befuddle me a bit but I finally figured out that the larger second hand was actually the one for the stopwatch, not the smaller top dial. Overall great watch and I really like how it fits my wrist. The case is big enough to not feel puny yet thin enough to not feel bulky. Solid feeling stainless construction is a plus. The sliding bezel is very nice and smooth, doesn't click like most watches... That could be a positive or negative, depends on one's tastes, personally it didn't really matter to me. The bezel does stay in place well even without clicks. Can't really think of anything else to write, overall great watch, great price, and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Casio Men's Forester Ana-Digi Databank 10-Year Battery Watch #AW80-1AV Review

Casio Men's Forester Ana-Digi Databank 10-Year Battery Watch #AW80-1AVI purchased this watch for work and exercising and after using it for a day I'd say it performs admirably; one certainly cannot complain about the price. Shipping wasn't particularly cheap, but Fed Ex 2 day never is. Stopwatch and timer functions work perfectly, but appear limited to 23:59:59 at max. The daylight savings toggle is handy, and Casio allows a one or two button combination to rapidly set the analog dial in increments of about twenty seconds. The alarm is moderately loud, on par with every other Casio I've used. 30 cities to choose from for world time is a nice bonus if you care.

Some annoyances:

The 'illuminator' light ring is VERY poorly designed and appears to consist of two yellow LEDs embedded in a clear plastic ring under the outside edge of the 'crystal'. When in use, analog time is just visible but the recessed LCD screen is totally unusable. If low-light or nighttime use of the stopwatch or timer is important to you buy something with an electroluminescent face instead of this.

The 30 entry data bank function is probably very handy in a pinch, but entering letters and numbers by using the two watch buttons is incredibly slow. Use your cell phone or a little black book.

The numbers on the outside of the dial are redundant with the ticks on the inside of the dial. One or the other would be preferable for aesthetic reasons.

The battery will probably not last nearly ten years if the analog time is adjusted often or the 'illuminator' is used too often.

I prefer leather bands over resin, but that can always be swapped out at a drug store or mega mart.

Casio Men's Pathfinder Moon Phase Hunting Timer Watch Review

Casio Men's Pathfinder Moon Phase Hunting Timer WatchI bought this watch for one reason: to wake me up in the morning -- but without waking my wife at the same time.I avoid the usual alarms that sound off -- I want a "private" alarm that wakes only me.This vibrating watch does this perfectly. It has at least 4 alarms, and I use 3 to wake me in 10 minute intervals, to be sure I come awake.Once you know the sequence of buttons to push, it's easy to set the alarm and to turn them off (for example, at the weekend, when I sleep later). The construction is good, the backlighting is good, and the strap is very strong and easy to fasten (with Velcro).I don't use this for "hunting," which is the purpose given to this watch -- there are all kinds of other functions avauilable that I don't use.But for my purposes, it is perfect.

This Casio moon phase hunting watch is the perfect outdoorsman timepiece, with a stylish design well suited for woods, lake or city wear. The watch displays the moon's age, phase and time, as well as sunrise and sunset information, for the current or designated day. A handy vibration alert can be used with the daily alarm, hourly time signal, or hunting timer so as not to disturb the quiet. The watch also offers a time memo, a 1/100 second stopwatch, and five daily alarm settings. An automatic electro-luminescent backlight with afterglow makes the display easy to read at any time, and the water-ready nylon band comes with a buckle clasp. Casio Men's Classic Digital Sport Watch #W800H-1AV Review

Casio Men's Classic Digital Sport Watch #W800H-1AVJust got this watch after ordering a few days ago. Strange thing is, you won't find any product information about it on Casio's US website. Let's get to it:

Pros:
1) Not as bulky as a G-Shock:
If you're like me and you want a fully-functioning digital watch without the enormous bulk of a G-Shock, then this watch may fit your bill (even the midsize G-Shocks are tad too large in my book). However, this watch isn't tiny either: The across-width, measured between the buttons on either side but not including buttons, is just a 1/16 inch shy 1.5 inches. The top-to-bottom height, measured between the outside of the top bezel above the "Casio" insignia to the outside of the lower bezel below the "WATER 100M RESIST" is 1 3/16 inches, and just about 1/2 inch thick.
2) Plenty of features:
Dual time, stop-watch with split times, displays the time during the stop-watch function, date setup that knows the day of the week (accounts for leap year too), large display, snooze alarm (!), etc.
3) Great price:
For the value alone I give it the 5-star rating

Cons:
1) Bezel around the crystal is flush with the surface of the crystal - this could lead to scratches if you're not careful
2) Light is not the back lighting "Illuminator" of some other Casio watches - it's green glow that lights from the bottom-left of the display - kinda meh but it does stay on for a few seconds after depressing.
3) Could use a count-down timer.

In closing, this watch isn't gonna win any beauty contests, but it's functions, simplicity, and discrete look are what sold me.

Casio Men's Databank Digital Watch #DBC30-1 Review

Casio Men's Databank Digital Watch #DBC30-1I've owned this watch for 7 and a half years, since I was in 7th grade. It's served me perfectly, through watch band breakings and new battery replacements. The printing on it never wore off on the calculator buttons, and the screen did not scratch easily. The battery replacements were easy.

I only now am finally moving on to the DBC310-1 - not because I want to, but because the plastic casing on the DBC30-1 finally cracked, and I can't connect the band to the watch anymore. The ironic thing is that the watch itself still works perfectly. I imagine it probably will work for longer then I'm alive.

An excellent watch. I'll never get anything but Casio.

Casio Men's Reverse LCD Atomic Pathfinder Watch #PAW1300Y-1VCR Review

Casio Men's Reverse LCD Atomic Pathfinder Watch #PAW1300Y-1VCRI got this watch last week and it's been great so far.I've been using Timex Ironman watches forever and this is slightly bigger but not at all bulky. The barometer has been spot on since I calibrated it.The altimeter worked great on a hill run that I did yesterday.Compass was off by 6 deg, but for a watch that isn't too bad.Thermometer is affected by your body temp so that's probably the most inaccurate sensor. The atomic timekeeping is probably the best thing about the watch.

The negatives are that the alarm isn't that loud and the countdown timer doesn't have a repeat setting, you have to start it over yourself.Overall though great watch, I would buy it again.

Product Description:
Explore. Inform. Conquer. Featuring sporty style and a durable design, the Atomic Pathfinder is much more than a watch, it's an advanced tool for use in the great outdoors. This Amazon Exclusive is equipped with many high-tech sensors to help you observe nature and monitor its continuous changes.
Atomic Timekeeping for Superb Accuracy
The Pathfinder provides micro-second accuracy with multi-band atomic timekeeping that picks up a time calibration signal from anywhere in the world and updates the watch's settings automatically. The Pathfinder features five daily alarms, a countdown timer, and an hourly time signal. The world time function includes 29 time zones (30 cities), a city code display, and a daylight saving on/off function. The automatic calendar is pre-programmed to the year 2099.
Tough Solar Power Eliminates Need for a Battery
You'll never have to worry about changing the battery thanks to the Pathfinder's Tough Solar technology. The battery is automatically charged by light, both indoor and outdoor. The Pathfinder has a solar cell and a special rechargeable, secondary battery that is charged by the electrical power produced by the solar cell. The watch will perform for five months on a single full charge.
Automatic Electro-Luminescent Display for Easy Viewing
The watch's read-outs can be viewed in any light, thanks to the Pathfinder's automatic, EL (electro-luminescent), adjustable backlit digital display with afterglow. Two high-intensity LEDs make the face exceptionally bright, and an auto light means that when you tilt the Pathfinder toward your face, the LEDs automatically light up for nighttime viewing.
Barometer, Altimeter, and Thermometer Readings
With the Pathfinder's barometer, you can predict changing weather patterns as they occur around you. The barometer takes readings every two hours and stores them automatically, graphically displaying the barometric pressure from the past 26 hours. The display ranges from 260 to 1,100 hPa (7.65 to 32.45 inHg) with changeovers from hPa to inHg.
The watch's altimeter can help you gauge the time you'll need to reach the summit. The altimeter checks and displays the altitude every two minutes and stores readings with the temperature every 15 minutes. The graphing function positions you with respect to your target altitude, while an alarm alerts you as you approach your mark. You can record up to 40 sets of data with each record, displaying the month, date, and time. The altimeter's measuring range is from -700 to 10,000 meters (-2,300 to 32,800 feet).
The Pathfinder also features a built-in thermometer that displays and checks the temperature every five minutes. The display can be converted from Celsius to Fahrenheit and measures temperatures from -10 to 60 degrees C (14 to 140 degrees F). So whether you're hiking through the Grand Canyon or snowshoeing in the Rockies, the Pathfinder has you covered.
Sporty, Durable Design
This sports watch is durably designed with a stainless steel case, round black resin bezel, durable mineral crystal, and black resin band with a secure buckle clasp. Buttons flank the bezel and allow easy access to the watch's sensors. Yellow and white concentric stick indexes on the watch bezel indicate barometric pressure, receiving capability, battery power, and more. The black dial changes with each mode and provides easy-to-read recordings, including graphs and tables. This timepiece is powered by Japanese-quartz movement and is water-resistant to 330 feet (100 M).

Casio Men's Illuminator Bracelet Digital Watch #A178WA-1A Review

Casio Men's Illuminator Bracelet Digital Watch #A178WA-1AEver since I navigated my sailboat around the world using a $10 Casio watch as my primary timekeeping device (before GPS, of course) I've been a big fan of cheap Casio watches, but I have a drawer full of working ones with broken bands. The metal band cheap-o's are mostly the three-button classic with small numerals. As I get older, I need the bigger numerals. This one is absolutely perfect. At $14 it is the ultimate statement of function and substance trumping snobbery.

Casio Men's Multifunction Analog Watch #EF305-1AV Review

Casio Men's Multifunction Analog Watch #EF305-1AVThis watch is an excellent every day watch for someone who wants an affordable watch that they can wear to work or to the park. With its chronograph styling, dark resin band, and classic sizing (I think it's ~38mm diameter and not too thick, though as I recently lost mine I can't be sure), it definitely will give the impression that you are wearing a much more expensive watch. When I used to wear it, I got compliments on it all the time and cost estimates in the hundreds =D.

However, don't be fooled by the "multifunction watch" title. The sub-dials show day/date/24-hour time, and that's it--no dual time, no stopwatch, it's not a digital watch replacement. The second markings aren't clear or accurate enough for you to really time anything. This was mostly fine for me but I found myself occasionally missing those functions. What I personally found most annoying, however, was the choice of mineral crystal as the watch window material, a poor compromise between acrylic and sapphire glass. Harder than acrylic, but way softer than sapphire, it still scratches fairly easily for a "beater" watch but you don't have the option of easily buffing it out.

Casio Men's G-Shock Multi-Band Solar Atomic Analog Watch #AWG100-1A Review

Casio Men's G-Shock Multi-Band Solar Atomic Analog Watch #AWG100-1AWhen I opened the package, I was surprised with how this watch looked even better than it did on the web sites. The three small windows on the face are easy to see, but are not as bright as they look in the picture. The silver frame around the face and the hands stand out in a dark background, which is so cool! This watch is not small like baby-G, but is compact and looks like all you need for everyday life is packed inside.

The atomic system and solar power are really convenient as other reviewers describe them, and you don't have to do anything to keep this watch working accurately. I just grab it and put it on my wrist in the morning! Even though it's casual, it can be worn for work as well as recreation. Of course, this is G-Shock, so you don't have to worry about doing damage to it at all, while washing your hands, taking a nap, and even playing sports in the rain!

Personally, I like analog watches better than digital ones because you can quickly see the time in stead of having to picture the clock face in your head. But it's convenient to have digital display, too, to view the exact minutes and seconds. This watch is basically analog, but has digital display, as well, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds! Just a note, this watch doesn't have second hand (but you can see seconds on the digital display), and the minute hand moves every twenty seconds. It's kinda fun to watch.

The only change that I would make is to have the whole face illuminated, including digital display. The LED light only lights up the analog portion of the watch from the bottom of the watch face, and you cannot see the digital display in the dark (You can see the analog portion clearly without any trouble). So you shouldn't expect to set the alarm in the dark.

But over all, I'm quite satisfied with this watch and would recommend it to anyone looking for a tough, reliable, and good looking timepiece.

Casio Men's Waveceptor Solar Atomic Ana-Digi Sport Watch #WVA430J-1 Review

Casio Men's Waveceptor Solar Atomic Ana-Digi Sport Watch #WVA430J-1I'm normally not one to write product reviews, but I cannot say enough good things about this watch. In the past, I was a watch collector and rotated among wearing several watches depending upon my activity (work, sports, etc.) and mood (dress, casual, quirky).Since I purchased this watch several years ago on Amazon, I've pretty much abandoned my other watches and wear this one exclusively. It's comfortable, easy-to-read, and looks great for both business and casual wear. It's also the lowest maintenance watch I've ever owned.Because it's solar-powered, I've never had to mess with replacing the battery. And with its atomic clock capability, I've never had to mess with adjusting the time, especially when Daylight Savings Time rolls around. When my wife and I spent two weeks in England last fall, I kept the analog set to our "home" time and used the digital inset for UK time (it is easy to toggle between different time zones in digital mode). Finally, even after wearing it daily for several years, it still looks almost new.I thought I'd be turned off by the plastic band, but it has also turned out to be the most durable watchband I've ever owned.I sure don't miss having to replace batteries and watchbands! If I had to list any cons about this watch, it can be a little tricky to set, but that's mostly because I never have to mess with it and then have to dig out the small print instructions.I also don't use any of the advanced functions like the alarm or stopwatch.Otherwise, I've enjoyed this watch so much that I'm tempted to get a spare in case my trusty original ever wears out.

Casio Women's Daily Alarm Digital Watch #LA670WA-1 Review

Casio Women's Daily Alarm Digital Watch #LA670WA-1This watch is available under the heading: Casio Women's Digital Watch #LA670WA-1 Ladies' dress watch, under which there more more reviews, and I already added mine there.

To reitereate, this is a very smart & sweet looking watch, and also is all metal and digital, which are both rare at this size. However, the negative aspects are: no light, no date, and the clasp comes apart very easily. The description gives the erroneous impression the strap is the expansion type, but in fact it is a metal strap with a clasp that can slide up & down one arm, to a length that fits you.

I can see why one of the previous reviewers lost her watch: it is very easy not to snap the clasp closed properly. It came apart on me more than once and, the watch being so light, it is quite easy not to notice it has gone!

I like the watch but am very disappointed with the strap. I did consider getting a genuine expansion one which was what I had been looking for, but this turned out to cost more the the watch itself! If, like me, you are looking for a watch with an expansion type strap, Timex does them much better but unfortunately, and disappointingly, does not do them in digital form....

Casio Women's Daily Alarm Digital Watch #LA11WB-1 Review

Casio Women's Daily Alarm Digital Watch #LA11WB-1I love this watch.I've been re-buying it since the 80's.I typically trash watches within a year or so but I can make these last for a good 5 years or more even with hard use.Considering that I started out paying about 10 bucks for it, that's pretty impressive.Every one has survived my sweaty exercise sessions, sloppy dishwashing and slamming my wrist against things. The band can be torn but somehow I've only managed to do that on one of the four or so I've bought. And the band fits my little skinny wrist that NO jewelry fits, without having to alter it in any way.I use every feature on this watch, especially the countdown timer, which is a great tool for those of us who are easily distracted. If I have to remember to do something in a few minutes (from 5 to 30 minutes), whether it's call someone back, check the oven, turn off the garden hose, switch the laundry, or whatever, I can utilize the countdown timer as a reminder tool that travels with me unlike a kitchen timer or a sticky note. The watch is small and flat, and although it has a very vinyl utilitarian look, I choose it most of the time over my prettier dress watches because it's far more functional. This is not jewelry by any means but it's a great cost-effective little tool, if that's what you're into (and I am).

Casio Men's Ana-Digi Chronograph Dive Watch #AMW330D-1AV Review

Casio Men's Ana-Digi Chronograph Dive Watch #AMW330D-1AVI saw this watch at Target and found it online for $20 less. When I received the watch everything was great, it came well packaged and was in perfect condition. One thing I noticed is that the bezel moves in both directions which with a true dive watch it only moves in one but I realized it was only a dive style watch and not meant for diving so I forgave that. The real problem came the second time I wore it and I must have bumped it against something and the glass got a decent scratch in it.I didn't even realize that I had run into anything so I couldn't have hit it very hard and in my opinion it scratched far too easily.I realize that it's not the most expensive watch but it's certainly not the cheapest either and I would expect a build quality that would resist at least daily wear and tear.I've had the watch for a month and have only worn it a few times but every time I look at the face I see the scratch and it bothers me.

Casio Men's Sports Chronograph Alarm 10-Year Battery Databank Watch #AW80D-7AV Review

Casio Men's Sports Chronograph Alarm 10-Year Battery Databank Watch #AW80D-7AVI like a watch with analog hands, but with digital features.Since they are hard to find these days, I ordered this one.

The good:

The LCD portion of the watch is very easy to read.

The watch seems accurate so far.

The analog portion of the watch is controlled by the digital, so it should stay as accurate as the digital portion.(The minute hand clicks 1/3 of a minute every 20 seconds.)

The bad:

The digital portion of the watch has so many features that it is difficult to use.Do I really need three alarms? The watch can store 30 phone numbers in it.Ten years ago that could have been useful, but now I store all my numbers in my cell phone. To make use of all these features, I'd need to carry around the instruction manual (which is 100 pages long, if you include the English, Spanish, and warrantee--although the pages are small).

The watch has no second hand.Sometimes I like to use one to time short things.Yes, there is a built in stop watch, but it is as hard to use as all the other digital features.(But my guess is the lack of a second hand will extend battery life.)

The band grabbed the hair on my arm.I had to go out and buy a twist-o-flex.

There is no stem to set the analog portion of the watch.Instead, you go into handsetting mode in the digital portion, and push a button and wait for the hands to move forward to the correct time.To set the hands forward 11 hours to go off of DST took several minutes.

The watch has a DST setting. It sets the digital portion of the watch ahead an hour. But it doesn't automatically go back after DST ends.So you still need to adjust the watch. It's not much easier than just resetting the time. And it doesn't affect the analog hands.

The watch has a world time feature. You can quickly find out the time in Bangkok. But don't expect to use this on your vacation to keep track of the local time.Press any button and you will return to your local time.

The ugly:

The analog hands are hard to read. They are a light color on a white background.

There is too much writing on the watch. Not only is it ugly, but it is easy to confuse the "10 YEAR BATTERY" label next to the 3 for a minute hand.

There is a backlight for the analog portion at the push of a button. But it doesn't give quite enough light, and it goes out after a second even if you leave the button pushed in.There is no backlight for the digital portion.

Casio Men's Pathfinder Forester Fishing Moon Phase Watch #PAS400B-5V Review

Casio Men's Pathfinder Forester Fishing Moon Phase Watch #PAS400B-5VThe learning curve on this watch if you use it for fishing may take some time. The moon phase is nice to know about and the sunrise and sunset is pretty cool too, but I didn't give this watch 5 stars because for the money it didn't give me the one option I used more than any other on previous cheaper watches, a timer. This one has the stopwatch but there is no timer you can set for say 10 or 15 minutes. It keeps great time so far, but that's typical of Casio. The backlight is very bright, enough so that you can almost use it as a flashlight, and the option on this model where you can set it for the backlight to come on everytime you hold your arm a certain way is cool.If you're looking for a good water proof timepiece and you don't really care about the timer issue, this is the one.And yeah I'm vain about what it looks like on my arm; it looks manly and cool.

Casio Men's Ana-Digi Edifice Thermometer Bracelet Watch #EFA119BK-1AV Review

Casio Men's Ana-Digi Edifice Thermometer Bracelet Watch #EFA119BK-1AVI bought this watch based on several of the reviews listed here.I recommend that you think of this watch as having an analog display with the capability to displaying digital information in the background. In most cases, the background digital information is hard to read unless you hit the illuminate button. This is great for me because it gives the watch a classic analog look while having all of the capabilities of a digital watch when I need it (which is relatively rare - I generally just need to know what time it is).The watch is full of features. I can confirm that the thermometer does not give accurate readings when you are wearing the watch.

As a final note, I could not find any instructions in the manual on how to adjust the band. [...] You need to follow the instructions for the "Leaf Spring Coupled Type," which is very easy once you see how it is supposed to be done.
